Peace and Dignity in Zimbabwe

A Call for Peace and Dignity in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe, my home country, is a nation full of history, culture, and strong people. However, despite its beauty, many citizens continue to live in fear instead of peace. As a young Zimbabwean, I believe that what we truly need as a nation is peace — not abuse, not harassment, and not threats.

In Zimbabwe, many people are afraid to speak freely because they worry about being targeted, threatened, or mistreated. Instead of living in a society where everyone feels protected, there are situations where individuals are abused or silenced. This creates fear, especially among young people who only want to live freely and build a better future.

We do not want a life where people are insulted, beaten, or threatened for their opinions or beliefs. Every person deserves respect and the right to express themselves without fear. Peace means being able to wake up each day knowing that you are safe, that your voice matters, and that you will not be punished for simply being yourself.

As Zimbabweans, we are not asking for too much. We are asking for basic human dignity — to live without abuse (kushungurudzwa), without threats (kutyisidzirwa), and without fear. We want a country where young people can grow, learn, and succeed without being held back by violence or intimidation.

It is time for change. Zimbabwe needs unity, understanding, and respect among its people. True peace will allow the nation to move forward and give hope to future generations.

  1. Thank you patriots for this amazing initiative. We needed this decades ago but it’s never too late to start when a country is at stake. Anyone who genuinely loves Zimbabwe should join and support this great effort.

  2. “This is exactly what we stand for! No one should live in fear of speaking their truth or being themselves. We demand an end to abuse, threats and intimidation — every Zimbabwean deserves dignity, safety and the freedom to dream big. True peace and unity will build the bright future our children deserve. It’s time for change 🇿🇼🕊️”
