The diaspora has a right to speak — and to be heard. Zimbassy’s Ministry of Democratic Information is an open platform for Zimbabwean voices worldwide. Whether you are writing from London, Johannesburg, Toronto or Harare — if you believe in a free and democratic Zimbabwe, your voice belongs here.

We publish opinion pieces, personal testimony, analysis, news commentary and creative writing. All submissions are reviewed by the Zimbassy editorial team before publication. We do not publish content that supports or promotes ZANU-PF or any organisation that undermines democratic values.

📋 Submission Guidelines

  • 📝 Length: Between 300 and 1,500 words. Longer pieces may be published in parts. Please send shorter pieces for News & Updates.
  • 🌍 Language: English preferred. Articles in Shona or Ndebele are welcome — please include an English summary.
  • Accuracy: All factual claims must be verifiable. The editorial team may request sources before publication. We cannot publish unverified allegations against named individuals.
  • 🔒 Anonymity: We understand many contributors face real risk. You may submit under a pen name or anonymously — please indicate your preference clearly.
  • ©️ Originality: Submissions must be your own original work and not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. By submitting, you grant Zimbassy the right to publish and share your piece.
  • ⏱️ Response time: We aim to respond to all submissions within 7 days. If accepted, we will agree a publication date with you.
