  1. OUR COMMITMENT

Zimbassy is deeply committed to protecting the privacy and safety of every person who engages with us. We are acutely aware that many members of the Zimbabwean diaspora face genuine risk — from state surveillance, family pressure, or political targeting. We do not take lightly the trust you place in us when you share your personal information.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial or political purposes.
We will never share your data with the Zimbabwean government, ZANU-PF, or any affiliated organisation under any circumstances.

You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.

  1. ANONYMITY AND PEN NAMES

We understand that many contributors and members face real risk as a consequence of their political views or their identity as Zimbabwean dissidents.

You may join Zimbassy and submit articles using a pen name or anonymously. We will never reveal your identity without your explicit consent, including in response to informal requests from third parties.

In the event we ever received a formal legal request for member data from a UK authority, we would seek legal advice and notify affected members where permitted by law before complying.

  1. HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR DATA

Your data is stored securely within our WordPress website hosted on HOSTINGER.COM. Access is restricted to authorised Zimbassy administrators only.

We use SMTP-secured email for all communications.
We do not store payment information — Zimbassy does not currently process payments.

We will retain membership data for as long as Zimbassy operates as an active organisation, or until you request deletion. Article submission
data is retained for editorial records.
